As any other big capital, Madrid is divided between a constant activity and stress, and the wonderful quality of life that offers morning walks in one of our beautiful parks such as El Retiro, la Casa de Campo or El Pardo. Moreover, Madrid offers many cultural activities as well as a wide architectural diversity.

In Madrid there is no time for boredom. At all times of the year you can enjoy concerts, musicals, theatre plays, or “zarzuela” – the most typical traditional dance of Madrid-, or going to the cinema in Gran Via, which is compared to the Spanish Broadway. In the centre, in Calle Alcala, el Círculo de Bellas Artes is the perfect place to have a coffee after attending theatre plays for instance.

Quite all art temples close on Mondays. They open from 10am to 8pm. Prices vary –about 3-6 €-, but entries to municipal museums and foundations are free.

In front of Atocha station you cannot miss the National Museum and Art Centre of Reina Sofia (MNCARS) where there is one of the European most impressive collections of modern art, where, among other famous paintings, visitors can admire the Guernica, of Picasso. This magnificent exhibition space has recently been increased by the French architect Jean Nouvel.

Gardens, ponds, fountains and royal castles – In El Escorial, Aranjuez or in La Granja de San Ildefonso, in the surroundings of Madrid- offer pleasant walk close to the capital. The landscape is beautiful in spring. This period of the year is perfect for outside activities with the whole family.

The Spanish capital is a lovely and magic city. During your stay you will have the opportunity to discover all its attractions and find out how welcoming the people of Madrid are.

Museums are one of the attractions of Madrid. In the wide avenue of Paseo del Prado you can admire the fountains of Neptune and Cibeles, the Botanical garden, near the Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. When in the city centre do not miss the Plaza Mayor and its archways, as well as the narrow streets of old Madrid.
